    • Provide positive alternatives to counter potential extremist influences by engaging youth in constructive and meaningful activities.
  4. Enhancing EU Democratic Legitimacy:
    • Involve young citizens from different EU countries in discussions about the future of Europe, strengthening the democratic legitimacy of EU decision-making processes.
    • Foster a greater sense of belonging to the European Union by promoting EU values and democratic principles.

By empowering young people and addressing the challenges they face, the project seeks to prevent social exclusion and counter potential extremist ideologies. Ultimately, YouthEUVision aims to enhance the role of youth in shaping the future of Europe, contributing to a more democratic, inclusive, and resilient European society.

Through its innovative and comprehensive approach, YouthEUVision is poised to make a significant and lasting impact on youth engagement and democratic participation across Europe, empowering the next generation to build a stronger and more united Europe.

Project Overview

Project: Taking Matters into our Own Hands: Employment and Entrepreneurship

Duration: 01.02.2024 – 31.01.2026

Grant Amount: 250.000€

Donor: Erasmus+

Croatian Agency for Erasmus (The Agency for Mobility and EU Programmes)

What's About

The statistics indicate that young people with hearing disabilities and communication obstacles are more than twice as likely to be unemployed compared to hearing adults. Integrating these individuals into the job market is a key challenge; more than 50% of the one million people with hearing disabilities in Europe are unemployed, and those who are employed are often in low-skilled and low-paid jobs.

People with hearing disabilities can indeed contribute significantly to the labor market, but it’s essential to ensure they receive appropriate education and guidance when entering the workforce to realise their potential and enhance their competitiveness.

Those who teach or work with people with hearing disabilities must be familiar with the specificities of deafness, understand the obstacles faced, find the most appropriate solutions for them, and empower them to overcome the challenges they face and demonstrate their competencies and ambitions in the job market.

Similarly, people with hearing disabilities and communication obstacles should be familiarised with the demands of the job market and prepared for effective engagement within it.

For these reasons, the project “Taking Matters Into Our Own Hands: Employment and Entrepreneurship” focuses on two target groups of youth:

  • To empower young people with hearing disabilities and communication obstacles for entrepreneurial thinking and creating self-employment opportunities.
  • To provide youth workers with knowledge and skills in the field of entrepreneurship for working with young people with hearing disabilities and communication difficulties.

Partners in this project:

– Youth Power germany e.V (DE)

– Istituto ad ordinamento universitario “Scuola Superiore Carolina Albasio” (IT)

– Savez Gluhih i Nagluhih Grada Zagreb (HR)

– Learning Library OÜ (EE)

  • The development of a toolkit that includes innovative educational workshops and activities, and two online learning courses with educational materials and practical advice for raising skills and knowledge in career development and entrepreneurship.

  • The development of a curriculum for youth workers, enabling them to acquire knowledge and skills on how to provide career counseling and professionally guide deaf and hard of hearing persons, as well as persons with communication obstacles.

  • Raising awareness and informing the public, particularly youth organizations, organizations for the deaf and hard of hearing, educational institutions, and other institutions, about the specifics of deafness and communication obstacles, as well as the challenges they face in the job market. This will include offering concrete advice and recommendations for more successful work with deaf and hard of hearing young people, and young people with communication obstacles, through social media campaigns.

  • The development of a project website and an interactive online platform for youth workers, educators, and deaf and hard of hearing young people, containing educational materials in the form of articles, practical advice, stories from the target groups, and project-developed outputs, which will be permanently accessible.

  • The final conference where materials developed during the project implementation and the results of testing these materials will be presented.

The Objectives

Project ACTIVITIES

Activities include development of educational materials and tools for youth workers in form of curriculum, for youngsters in format of toolkit, educational workshops and national trainings for testing and applying the materials. 2 online learning courses for empowering entrepreneurial and employability skills of deaf and hard of hearing youth will be developed. Project will have online depository platform developed, 5 online campaigns, and final conference event resulting in creation of network.

Project IMPACT

Curriculum for youth workers, a toolkit for educators, and two online courses for deaf and hard of hearing youngsters will be developed. The main output of the project will be an online platform hosting all of these outputs and additional educational resources. Raised awareness among professionals and dissemination of the developed outputs will be achieved through five online campaigns. A network will be the final output of the project, launched during the final project conference.

Wellhoody Project

Wellhoody Project

Project Overview

WELLHOODY is working to enable and ensure the inclusion of all young people in society. The Youth Strategy 2019-2027 recognises the need to ensure that marginalised young people are participating in all decision-making processes and are key players, particularly in processes concerning their own rights, wellbeing and interests.

Project: Wellbeing in Diverse Youth communities

Duration: 01.03.2022 – 30.06.2024

Reference Nr. 2021-2-SE02-KA220-YOU-000049948

Grant Amount: 304,770 EUR

Donor: Swedish Agency for Youth and Civil Society – Swedish national Agency

What's about

EU-wide, youth who are either foreign-born or who are native-born with foreign-born parents account for one in five of 15 to 34-year-olds (OECD/EU, 2018). Their population share is increasing in virtually all EU countries, although their size and composition vary greatly across countries, reflecting countries’ different migration histories. They are one of the most at-risk groups in terms of social exclusion for multiple reasons: lack of economic resources, skills that don’t match employment opportunities and cultural differences; the attitudes of host country citizens, and sometimes outright displays of discrimination.

Youth well-being is one of the most important EU agendas and is at the core of the EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027. We know that being part of an engaging community gives us a sense of belonging. Researchers at the University of Manchester say diversity is associated with higher social cohesion and greater tolerance of each other’s differences.

The WELLHOODY project will enable community wellbeing through youth learning and produce wider social benefits. Youth learning rooted in utilising the power of diversity will encourage all community members to become pursuers of mutual wellbeing while nurturing acceptance and inclusion in terms of diversity.

WELLHOODY is working to enable and ensure the inclusion of all young people in society. The Youth Strategy 2019-2027 recognises the need to ensure that marginalised young people are participating in all decision-making processes and are key players, particularly in processes concerning their own rights, wellbeing and interests (Goal 3).At the same time, Goal 4 is to achieve better mental wellbeing and end stigmatisation of mental health issues, thus promoting the social inclusion of all young people.

Critical Thinking and Participation as a Foundation of Democracy in Europe “CritiDE”

Critical Thinking and Participation as a Foundation of Democracy in Europe “CritiDE”

Project Overview

CritiDe is a project that aims to enhance the capacities of participating organizations, their local partners, and youth workers in the areas of critical thinking, youth activism in democratic processes, and media literacy skills. This will be accomplished through the creation and delivery of educational trainings for youth workers, as well as the development of educational handbooks and workshops. Additionally, an educational platform will be established, offering practical handbooks and online courses that provide guidance on adapting materials to the specific needs of local communities and the work of youth workers, educators, and professors. All consortium partners share a focus on working with young people, including those facing fewer opportunities, on topics such as social inclusion, democracy promotion, EU values, media literacy, and the development of innovative digital youth work methodologies and resources.

Project name: Critical thinking and participation as a foundation of democracy in Europe

Project acronym: CRITIDE

Project nr. 101051999

Granting authority: European Education and Culture Executive Agency

Project Duration:  01.01.2022 – 31.12.2023

Amount Granted: 286.330,00 €

What's About

The passive attitude of young people to participate in democratic activities and processes, lack of skills and knowledge of youth workers on how to equip young people with skills and knowledge needed for a critical approach to democracy and media literacy connected to the democratic processes, lack of trust of young people in democracy and democratic values (especially visible in the Western Balkan region) are the main reasons behind the work of partners in developing and creating the CritiDe project (shortcut for the full project name: “Critical thinking and participation as a foundation of democracy in Europe”).

Based on the needs assessment, research and publications from all partner countries, the proposal is focused on raising the level of political and media literacy of young people, learning about democracy, the rule of law and values, and exploring how to become active citizens,

having in mind not only elections but also a broader set of actions: campaigning, demonstrating, volunteering, and engaging in political parties or NGOs.

CritiDe as a project aims to raise the capacities of participating organisations and their local partners, as well as youth workers; in the fields of critical thinking and activism of young people in democratic processes and the development of media literacy skills. This will be achieved through the development and delivery of educational trainings for youth workers and the development of educational handbooks and workshops.

An educational platform containing developed practical handbooks and an online learning course on how to use and adapt materials to the specific needs of local communities and the work of youth workers/educators/professors; will be developed. The platform will further provide opportunities to contact local organisations as focal points and resource centres.

The project focuses on these thematic areas/specific objectives: political participation and dialogue with decision-makers; inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities; democracy, rule of law and values.
