On June 29, 2024, we successfully implemented the multiplier event for the Wellhoody project—Wellbeing in Diverse Youth Communities. For more information about the project, please visit our website at Wellhoody.
During this event, we presented an overview of the entire project and all the outputs developed throughout its duration. The educational platform, which houses all the project information and outputs, was particularly engaging for the attendees. This platform is designed for youth workers and the community at large, providing access to all developed materials to enhance community practice and understanding of the steps necessary for a better life and personal growth. The educational materials, online courses, and newsletters offered valuable insights, allowing attendees to familiarize themselves with the project’s purpose and benefits.
Wellbeing in Diverse Youth Communities (WELLHOODY) is an innovative approach that upskills youth educators and communities in racially diverse environments to empower youth well-being and recognize the strengths that come from diversity. In the process, they equip young people to be active citizens, encouraging them to build inclusive, diverse youth communities where everyone is welcome and can participate. WELLHOODY addresses youth well-being by grounding it in the benefits of youth diversity, transforming the strengths of diverse youth communities into educational practices that enhance the well-being of young people.
Youth well-being is one of the most important EU agendas and is at the core of the EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027. Being part of an engaging community gives us a sense of belonging. Researchers at the University of Manchester say diversity is associated with higher social cohesion and greater tolerance of each other’s differences. The WELLHOODY project aims to enable community well-being through youth learning and produce wider social benefits. By utilizing the power of diversity, youth learning will encourage all community members to pursue mutual well-being while nurturing acceptance and inclusion.
WELLHOODY is committed to ensuring the inclusion of all young people in society. The EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027 recognizes the need to involve marginalized young people in all decision-making processes, particularly those concerning their own rights, well-being, and interests. Additionally, it aims to achieve better mental well-being and end the stigmatization of mental health issues, thus promoting the social inclusion of all young people.
