Press Note

In July, the S.E.E.D. Youth Exchange was held in Bytom, Poland, bringing together young participants from Poland, Estonia, Spain, Germany, Italy, and Greece. The initiative focused on four critical themes: Society, Entrepreneurship, Ecology, and Democracy. This project aimed to equip young people with essential skills and knowledge in these areas, laying the groundwork for future impact.

A highlight of the program was the Democracy Panel held in Katowice, where participants had the unique opportunity to engage with municipal authorities and meet Alina Bednarz, Vice-Chairwoman of the Silesian Regional Assembly. The panel offered insights into the workings of provincial government and the rich history of Upper Silesia, accompanied by a visit to the Silesian Parliament.

As part of the exchange, participants launched an information campaign promoting the values aligned with the project’s objectives, which can be viewed on the FEIS Foundation’s social media channels.

In addition to the educational activities, national evenings and collaborative tasks strengthened international ties and fostered mutual understanding between participants from different countries.

The event was organized by the FEIS Foundation, in collaboration with Youth Power Germany e.V. (Germany), Koukouva S.C.E. (Greece), DAR for Peace and Equality (Italy), EESTI People to People (Estonia), and UCAM Universidad (Spain). The S.E.E.D. Youth Exchange was honoured with the patronages of the European Parliament and the European Commission, and was co-financed by the European Union.

Aims of the S.E.E.D. Youth Exchange

The primary goal of the S.E.E.D. Youth Exchange was to equip young people with essential skills and knowledge in four key areas: Society, Ecology, Entrepreneurship, and Democracy. By engaging in panels, workshops, and a variety of activities, participants had the opportunity to deepen their understanding of these domains and apply the concepts to both personal and community development.

One of the key outcomes of the project was to increase participants’ awareness of critical global and local issues, while also encouraging them to actively pursue activities that support their own growth and contribute to their communities. Through this youth exchange, young people not only gained valuable skills but also fostered a greater sense of responsibility and engagement in their roles as active citizens.
