What's About

Human Rights and Inclusion: LGBT+ and Third Gender Youth Policy Exchange is a dynamic youth-led initiative aimed at raising awareness of human rights, with a special focus on LGBT+ and third gender rights. Through education, policy development, international exchange, and digital activism, the project empowers young people to create long-term, sustainable change in their communities and beyond.

This project went beyond discussion, it was about real action. During the youth exchange, participants learned about human rights frameworks, their local legislative contexts, and the lived realities of LGBT+ and third gender individuals in Europe. They then collaborated to create a shared Youth Policy for LGBT+ and Third Gender Rights, which served as a guideline for future advocacy, funding proposals, and local projects.

We believe that human rights are not optional but they are universal, and the protection and promotion of them should involve those most affected. That’s why this project placed youth at the center of policy-making, advocacy, and community engagement. The new youth-created policies were promoted across local communities and organisations, forming the foundation for follow-up projects and international cooperation.

What's About

This project aims to empower NGOs and youth workers with the skills and tools for strategic planning to improve their efficiency, sustainability, and responsiveness to local community needs. Many partner organisations were newly established or lacked updated strategic plans, which are vital for ensuring long-term success and social impact.

Through participatory methods, the project supported six partner organisations in developing tailor-made strategic planning documents, aligning each with their vision, mission, and evolving community contexts. This participatory process also promoted stronger teamwork, communication, and ownership among stakeholders.

The project promoted understanding of strategic planning as a tool for impact, and provided youth workers with practical planning skills, frameworks, and guidance on leveraging the Erasmus+ programme to achieve strategic goals.

Youth Art Movement

Youth Art Movement

Project Overview

The Youth Art Movement project is a dynamic cross-cultural initiative designed to bridge the gap between European Union and Balkan countries through the power of contemporary art. This innovative program focuses on revolutionizing youth work by introducing non-formal learning methods, where art serves not just as a medium for expression but as a tool for engaging and educating young people.

Project: Youth Art Movement

Duration:  01.08.2018 – 31.01.2019

Reference Nr. 2018-2-DE04-KA105-016883

Grant Amount: 35.914 EUR

Donor: Jugend für Europa – German National Agency

What we did

The Youth Art Movement project successfully forged a new path in strengthening cooperation between European Union countries and the Balkans, focusing on youth work through the medium of contemporary art. Here’s a snapshot of our achievements:

  • Fostering Intercultural Collaboration: We bridged cultural divides, bringing together youth workers from diverse backgrounds across Europe and the Balkans. This initiative promoted intercultural understanding, respect for diversity, and mutual enrichment.

  • Innovative Training in Youth Work: Participants were immersed in a comprehensive training program. We introduced them to Youthpass and our novel method of incorporating contemporary art into youth work. This approach not only enhanced their skills but also equipped them with new tools for effective engagement with young people.

  • Hands-On Workshops: During our workshops, participants actively collaborated with trainers and each other. These sessions were not just about learning but also about doing – facilitating together and applying new methods in real-time.

  • Artistic and Creative Exploration: The project delved deep into the realms of art, body, and physical space, awakening and enhancing creativity. We explored how art influences daily life, using it as a tool for critical and artistic expression.

  • Collaboration Between Experts and participants: The synergy between experienced directors/choreographers and participating youth workers (artists/individuals) was pivotal. This collaboration combined technical expertise with personal interpretation and life experiences, offering a holistic learning experience.

  • Performance in Mostar: The project’s highlight was the final performance in Mostar, executed by the participants. This event was a testament to the skills acquired, showcasing the possibilities of the body and art in various life scenarios.

  • Duration and Impact: Spanning 14 days, the workshops culminated in a rich exchange of ideas, techniques, and cultural values. The project left a lasting impact, not only on the participants but also on the broader community, demonstrating the unifying power of art in youth work.
