What we did
- Activities: The project involved organisations of youth sports activities, specifically aimed at asylum seekers, refugees, and immigrants.
- Focus: Emphasis on using sports as a method in Non-Formal Education (NFE)/youth work for promoting intercultural acceptance and inclusion.
- Training Course: It was conducted focusing on concepts like inclusion, intercultural learning, and ‘sports for all’.
- Context: The project addresses challenges in Europe related to intercultural dialogue and acceptance of differences, particularly in the context of wars and economic migration to the EU.
- Duration: The training course will last 9 days, from 29th September to 8th October 2018.
- Participants: 32 participants, trainers, and staff from 9 organizations and countries (DE, RS, BA, XK, ME, MK, HR, SI, and SE).
The Goal
- Main Objective: To encourage youth workers to develop youth sport projects that foster positive intercultural acceptance and inclusion of refugees, immigrants, and other marginalized groups.
- Specific Objectives: Sharing experiences of immigrant inclusion, promoting and researching the concept of ‘sports for all’, increasing competences in organizing quality youth work through sports, and defining plans for local/national workshops.
Project RESULT
- Capacity Development: Enhanced the capacity of partner organizations in youth work and the development of youth workers.
- Empowerment: Empowered and motivated trainers and youth workers to be more active in organisations and communities.
- Improvement in Youth Work: Advanced work related to sports and Erasmus+ projects, thereby indirectly involved more young people and fostered intercultural learning.
- Long-Term Impact: Increased the number of young people involved in organisational activities, leading to improved quality of inclusive youth work and greater cultural awareness in communities.
